The house was purpose-built in 2016 to a standard that most Park City properties don't attempt. Every one of the four bedrooms has its own full bathroom — a detail that matters enormously when eleven guests are getting ready for the mountain at seven in the morning. Three bedrooms have king beds. The fourth is a bunk room built for families — a twin-over-full bunk plus a single trundle — the kind of room children remember and fight over.

Most Park City homes are squeezed onto narrow Old Town lots — long and thin, kitchen separated from living, room after small room. This home sits on a lot one and a half times the standard width, and the difference is everything. The kitchen, dining room, and living room flow together in one bright, open space — the way a family actually wants to live. Three beautiful patios — two on the front of the home and one in the back — double the home's outdoor footprint. The light is generous, the rooms breathe, and the whole house feels noticeably brighter and more livable than its neighbors.

Beyond the open common area, a family room with a sofa bed and a dedicated movie room with full surround sound take care of the rest of the day — for the game, the film, the night when no one wants to go back out. Step outside to a private hot tub in the snow. The infrastructure is the kind you only notice when it's missing: radiant floor heat throughout, a heated driveway, air conditioning for summer.

Old Town Park City is a silver mining town that reinvented itself as one of the great mountain destinations of North America. The Victorian storefronts on Main Street now house some of Utah's best restaurants, wine bars, and art galleries. In January, the Sundance Film Festival takes over the town and the home is at the center of it. In summer, the mountain becomes a network of world-class hiking and mountain biking trails accessible directly from the back of the property — a different kind of extraordinary week.
